The province has moved into Step 3 – matches can continue to meet in person

Our province has moved into Step 3 of the Roadmap to Reopen, which means you can continue to meet in person (only if you feel comfortable) and you can enjoy more options now that up to 25 people can gather indoors and up to 100 outdoors. Things like…dining in restaurants and going to museums and festivals.

Our masking and physical distancing guidelines remain unchanged regardless if people are fully vaccinated or not. This means that whether you are indoors or out, masks are required when you are not able to stay two meters apart (therefore, in cars).

We hope you have a great summer!

The province has moved into Step 2 – matches can meet indoors again

Effective today, and only if you feel comfortable, matches are permitted to meet indoors as long as no more than five people are gathering and everyone is able to stay two metres apart during the visit.

Rides in cars are also now permitted as long as everyone in the vehicle is wearing a mask.

Whether indoors or out, masks are required when you are not able to stay two meters apart.

This change is in accordance with Step 2 of the Ontario government’s three-step Roadmap to Reopen. Step 2 also allows for most of the summer activities you like to do (with restrictions).

Happy summer!

UPDATE – June 9, 2021

Our province has moved into Step 1 of the three-step process to reopen – in-person match visits are allowed

Matches are allowed to meet in person as long as you remain outdoors, keep two metres apart, and wear a mask when keeping two meters apart is not possible. Unfortunately, this means no riding in cars together.

These guidelines were put in place on June 4 when the government lifted the stay-at-home order. There are no changes to the guidelines as our province moves into Step 1 of the three-step Roadmap to Reopen on June 11.

We are keeping a close eye on the reopening process and will continue to keep you updated through our website and email.  In the meantime, please reach out to your mentoring coordinator if you have any questions at all. Your health and safety is our highest priority – always.

Enjoy the outdoors!

After a long wait, the provincial stay-at-home order has been lifted! Effective today, matches can begin to meet in person as long as you remain outdoors, keep two metres apart, and wear a mask when keeping two meters apart is not possible. Unfortunately, this means no riding in cars together.

UPDATE – January 4, 2021

The Premier of Ontario announced that the province will be entering a lockdown as of December 26th, 2020, and for our region that lockdown will last a minimum of 28 days.

Due to this impending situation, all in person match activities will be suspended until further notice. We will continue to offer Virtual Group programming.

Our office will remain closed to the public. Staff are working remotely, and continue match support via phone and email and ensure administrative tasks are completed to meet our families’ and matches needs.

We will update our website and all social media with any changes or updates to services and upcoming fundraisers as decisions are made.

We appreciate your understanding during this time and look forward to resuming our face-to-face relationships when it is safe to do so. Together we hope we can greatly reduce any impact of COVID-19 in our service area. We are #biggertogether!

Thank you. Stay safe, share kindness.
